Academic Accolades
Delgado Baseball graduated eight sophomore with Associate degrees in 2014, twelve sophomores in 2015, and nine sophomores in 2016. Over the as baseball student-athletes amassed a 3.0 cumulative team GPA each of the past two seasons, earning NJCAA All-Academic Team accolades.


National Rankings
Delgado has been ranked in each of the past 35 NJCAA national polls (dating back to 2011). The team has been ranked in the national top ten in twenty one of those polls, earning the #1 ranking once in 2013.


The Community's Home Team
The 2015-2016 baseball student-athletes accumulated over 300 hours of combined service in various projects including Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving meal reparations, turkey distributions at two local churches, a toy drive for the Delgado Children's Center, and assisting with the Times Picayune Doll & Toy Distribution. Each year, in addition to Delgado games, Kirsch-Rooney is also opened to more than 320 games including prep, American Legion, and summer league games.

Additionally, the program collected monetary and physical donations to assist nearly 50 families with care packages and basic necessities following the devastating floods in Baton Rouge and Lafayette in August 2016.

Record Milestones
Joe Scheuermann received his 800th career victory as Delgado Head Coach in February 2014 and his 900th victory in Grand Junction, Colorado during the 2016 JUCO World Series last May.


ABCA/Diamond Regional Coach of the Year
Joe Scheuermann was named an ABCA/Diamond Regional Coach of the Year in 2014, 2015, and 2016.


Delgado Dolphins Day in Louisiana
The 2016 team was recognized by both houses of the Louisiana State Legislature this past June on Delgado Dolphins Day. Joint resolutions honored the program for their representation on and off the playing field during their 2016 campaign.


Eddie Robinson Award
Joe Scheuermann was named the recipient of the 2016 Eddie Robinson Award. The award is based on onfield success with limited resources as well as the team's academic performance and service to the community. The award is presented annually to an athlete, coach, team or athletic administrator in Louisiana who demonstrates the qualities most associated with Grambling legend Eddie Robinson: outstanding achievement in athletics, academics, sportsmanship and citizenship by maximizing the use of limited resources.
