Delgado Community College is pleased to announce that construction is underway on the new Gayle and Tom Benson Athletic Complex. The two-story, 5,000 square foot facility sits adjacent to historic "Rags" Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium on the City Park campus. The complex will house the athletic department's first permanent baseball locker room, a state-of-the-art training room to provide sports medicine and treatment for student-athletes across Delgado's three athletic teams, office and equipment storage space, an apparel store, and a multi-purpose study hall and event space. The new facility is slated to open Fall 2023.

Through the generosity of the Gayle and Tom Benson Charitable Foundation, an initial pledge of $1,000,000 was made by Mrs. Gayle Benson in February 2020 to formally launch the Tradition Campaign for Delgado Athletics. Shortly thereafter, the COVID-19 pandemic caused construction delays and the eventual re-engineering of the project. Thanks to the support of the Delgado Community College Foundation, construction started shortly before Thanksgiving 2022. The completed project will be made possible through generous support of several major donors, community partners, and our former players and parents, alumni, and friends of the program. We need your help to complete this important project!

GIVING LEVELS

TEAMMATE
$250 donation level offered to baseball alums who will choose their uniform number for representation on the corresponding locker in the facility's new locker room. Each custom locker will feature a plaque with all former players/donors who wore that uniform number over the years who participate at this giving level.

GREEN & GOLD CLUB
A $500 donation level geared towards former players' parents and family members who wish to give back to the program that their family was part of over the years..

DOLPHIN CLUB
A $1000 donation that includes the donor's name listed on the donor recognition wall in the foyer of the Benson Complex.

COACHES CLUB
Any pledge between $2000-$5000 that includes placement on the donor recognition wall, lunch with the coaches, and Delgado Athletics merchandise.

MAJOR GIFTS
Any gift over $5000 will be recognized as a major gift. Each major gift will be recognized on the donor recognition wall in the complex, along with mention in the dedication ceremony program and other benefits appropriate to the gift.
