Delgado hosted the Hinds Community College Bulldogs in a doubleheader Monday evening at the Williamson Center.
 
Hinds outscored the Lady Dolphins throughout the game, overcoming the Dolphin rally in the final seconds enroute to Delgado’s 58-51 loss. Shaquinta James’ 12 points led the scoring as the Dolphins fall to 2-5 on the season.
 
The Delgado men took a 43-34 lead into the half  and never lost control of it enroute to their 87-66 victory over the Bulldogs. Melvin Davis led the Dolphin scoring with 22 points, along with Jauries Thomas (16), Rashaun Claiborne (14), and Jalen Jones (10) as Delgado improved to 7-1 on the year.
 
Delgado returns to action next Monday on the road against Hinds. The Women’s game begins at 6:00 followed by the men’s 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
