DELGADO EDGES THE EAGLES IN MISS-LOU MATCH-UP; 77-74
Richard Bienvenu's three-point buzzer-beater lifted Delgado to a 77-74 Miss-Lou conference victory on Wednesday night in the Williamson Center. Meridian had just completed a late scoring surge to tie the game 74-74 with seven seconds remaining before the Dolphins carried the ball back down the court for the win. The Dolphins were led by Rashaun Claiborne with 19 points, Jauries Thomas (18), and Richard Bienvenu (12). Kaylim Noel led Meridian's scoring with 16 points. With the win, Delgado improves to 14-6 overall and 2-0 in Miss-Lou play.
In the earlier game, Meridian walked away with a 69-45 win over the Lady Dolphins, who fell to 2-0 in conference play. Jackie Breland led with 11 points with Kayla Jackson scoring 10.
