Box Score Delgado opened their 2013 season
Thursday evening, falling to Pensacola State College 8-3 in the first game of the "Rags" Scheuermann Memorial Tournament at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
Pensacola scored the first runs in the game in the 6th inning when Brett Casteel singled in Andres Jiron, who had also reached on a lead off single. Jake Swearingen followed with a three run homer to extend the lead. Casteel would later drive in three more runs on a double in the 7th.
Delgado scored its only runs in the 7th inning, beginning with Cody Farrell's walk, which scored Jordan Caillouet who had also walked. Luke Voiron and Jake Fryman reached on back to back singles, scoring on Cody Farrell's walk and Logan Jones' fielder's choice.
