Box Score 2 Delgado defeated Jefferson College in a doubleheader Wednesday at Kirsch-Rooney to extend its current win streak to 19 games and improve to 27-3 overall.
In the first game, Chris Eades' two run homerun in the sixth lifted the Dolphins to a 11-1, ten-run rule victory over the Vikings. The Dolphins had previously scored solo runs in the first and third innings and enjoyed a seven run fifth inning. In the fifth, the Delgado lineup batted around and posted five hits, including RBI-singles by Brady Williamson and Tony Fortier-Bensen and a two-RBI double by Cameron Hoffman. Jacob Neil earned the win on the mound, pitching the complete game, allowing one run on only four hits, no walks, and three strikeouts.
In game two, Delgado defeated the Vikings with a 8-2 win to sweep Jefferson College in the three-game series. Delgado scored three runs on a double and back to back triples by Brady Williamson and Bubby Riley. Riley scored on Cameron Hoffman's sacrifice fly. The Dolphins had previously scored three runs in the first inning on four consecutive RBI-hits. Bubby Riley's two-RBI double in the second allowed two more runs to score. Riley finished the day six for seven with three RBI. Brady Hitt earned the win on the mound with Tyler Cotton and Brandt Bourgeois appearing in relief of the starter.
Delgado (27-3) extends is record-breaking win streak to nineteen games. The Dolphins will open Miss-Lou Conference play this weekend when the host Baton Rouge Community College in a three-game series at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
