Box Score Delgado extended its win streak with another double header sweep Saturday, defearting Oakton Community College 7-3 and 14-1 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
Oakton scored two runs in the top of the first before Bubby Riley's three-run homerun in the bottom of the inning, scoring Logan Jones and Brady Williamson who had each reached base with singles. Delgado scored solo runs in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings to expand the lead, holding Oakton to only one other run in the fifth. Kyle Deckwa earned his third win of the season on the mound, relieving starter Jacob Neil. Brandt Bourgeois earned the save, retiring the last two batters of the game with runners on first and second.
An eleven run, ten hit fifth inning padded the Delgado lead and contributed to the Dolphins' 14-1 mercy rule victory in game two. Delgado opened their scoring in the third inning when Manny Kurki-Fox reached base on an infield error, advanced on a single by Logan Jones. Kurki-Fox and Jones scored on Cameron Hoffman's double, which was followed by another double by Austin Barrois, which allowed Hoffman's run to score. The Delgado fifth saw three homeruns (Bubby Riley, Austin Barrois, and Jordan Caillouet), a triple (Brady Williamson), three doubles (Austin Barrois, Cody Farrell, and Manny Kurki-Fox) and three singles (Cameron Hoffman, Logan Jones, and Cameron Hoffman). Tyler Cotton picked up the win on the mound in relief of starter Brady Hitt (3 innings, 3 walks, 3 strikeouts) and reliever Brandon Shearman.
With the wins, Delgado sweeps all six games of their appearance at the 2013 Disney Spring Training Invitational at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. The Dolphins improve their overall record to 19-3.
