Delgado Community College will host the 2013 Region XXIII Tournament this weekend, featuring Baton Rouge Community College, Meridian Community College, and Delgado Community College. The three team, double elimination tournament will be played on Saturday and Sunday at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
Delgado, #3 in the nation in the latest national National Junior College Athletic Association poll, is the number one seed in the tournament after claiming the regular season Miss-Lou conference title. On Saturday, the Dolphins will face Meridian at 3:30, followed by a 7:00 game against Baton Rouge Community College.
The complete tournament bracket is attached. Each team will play a doubleheader on Saturday. If one team is 0-2, they are eliminated. If all teams are 1-1 after the first day, the number one seed will draw a bye to the championship game. Game times on Saturday are set for 12:00, 3:30, and 7:00. Sunday’s games will be played at 1:00, with a 4:00 game should it be necessary.
