Dolphins Return to Rooney with wins over Meridian

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 In it's first home appearance since March 16, the Dolphins picked up twin Miss-Lou conference wins against Meridian Community College Saturday afternoon at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

In the first game, Chase Hymel pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout to lead the Dolphins (29-9, 4-3) to a 10-0 mercy rule win over Meridian. The Delgado offense scored solo runs in the first and second innings, five in the third, and three runs in the fourth.

In game two, Meridian tied the game in the fourth before Delgado answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on Bryce Adams' sacrifice fly, scoring Cody Ducote. Delgado batted around in the sixth inning, combining for six runs on five hits including RBI doubles by Josh Watkins and Bryce Adams en route to the 8-1 victory. Starting pitcher Brooks Vial picked up the win with Clay Tageant and Scott Stonestreet closing the game in relief.

Delgado and Meridian will meet Sunday to wrap the weekend series with a single, 9-inning game at 1:00 at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
