In the first game, Delgado scored its first run of the day on Austin Barrois' groundout, scoring Frankie Watts who reached on a leadoff single. Josh Watkins and Cody Ducote each had RBI doubles in the third to post three runs, in addition to Chris Eades' sacrifice fly as Delgado took a 5-1 lead. The Dolphins added a run in the fifth inning on Cody Ducote's RBI single, which scored Josh Watkins who reached on a leadoff walk. Meridian's lone run of the game came in the sixth on Ben Gann's solo homerun. The Dolphins added a seventh and final run in the top of the seventh when Austin Barrois doubled, advanced on a single by Cody Ducote, and scored on a wild pitch. Delgado starter Chase Hymel went the distance on the mound, pitching seven innings and striking out five.
Trailing by six runs in the seventh, Delgado mounted a five-run rally in the top of the last inning but fell short in their 7-6 loss to Meridian. Meridian took the lead on a solo homerun in the second inning and added two runs in the fourth on Kevin Hall's double and four runs in the fifth on hits and a Delgado error. Delgado's seventh inning rally consisted of doubles by Troy Lewis and Austin Barrois and singles by Frankie Watts, Josh Watkins, and Cole Freeman. The rally fell short as Meridian took the 7-6 victory. Delgado starter Brooks Vial received the loss on the mound, pitching four and a third innings.
