Box Score 2 Delgado traveled to Bay Minette, Alabama on Wednesday for a mid-week doubleheader against Faulkner State College.
In the first game, Chris Eades' sixth inning single plated two runs to tie the score 2-2. In the bottom of the inning, Faulkner State scored seven runs on two hits (one being a homerun) and four walks to take the 9-2 lead, which carried through the end of the game. Brett Leonhard was the losing pitcher in relief of starter Jordan Priddle.
In game two, Delgado took an early lead on Josh Watkins' two run homerun in the top of the first inning, scoring Frankie Watts, who led off the game with a walk. In the bottom of the inning, Faulkner State bats combined to plate six runs on four hits, coupled with three Dolphin errors. Delgado added a third run on Austin Barrois' solo homerun in the third, and added two runs in the fourth. Bryce Adams reached on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning to score Cody Ducote (who reached on a single) to tie the game 6-6. The game remained tied for the next five innings until Faulkner State singled in the walkoff run in the bottom of the 12th. Delgado relief pitcher Jonathan Mayeaux picked up the loss in relief.
Delgado (27-9) will host Meridian Community College this weekend in a three-game, Miss-Lou conference series at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
