Box Score 2 Delgado swept Faulkner State in their Monday doubleheader at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
In the first game, Faulkner State scored a run in the first inning on a passed ball before Delgado tied the game in the bottom of the inning on Cody Ducote's single, which scored Cole Freeman (who reached on a single to lead off the inning). The game remained tied until the bottom of  the third, when Troy Lewis reached on a single and scored on Cody Ducote's two-run homerun as Delgado took the 3-1 lead. Delgado continued to build on the lead, sending all nine batters to the plate in the inning to build a 9-1 lead. Delgado added three additional runs in the fourth when Cole Freeman and Troy Lewis reached on singles. Freeman scored on an RBI single by Cody Ducote and Lewis and Ducote scored on a single by Kyle Bracey to close the scoring and lift the Dolphins to the 12-1 victory in a game shortened to five innings by virtue of the ten-run rule. Offensively, Delgado was led by Cole Freeman (3 for 4, 1 RBI), Troy Lewis (2 for 4, 2 RBI), Cody Ducote (3 for 3, 1 HR, 4 RBI), Kyle Bracey (1 for 2, 2 RBI), and Christian Volion (2 for 3, 1 RBI). Delgado starter Brooks Vial earned the win, improving to 5-2 overall. Connor McWilliams appeared in relief. Both Delgado pitchers held Faulkner to only one run on two hits.
In game two, Kyle Bracey walked to lead off the Delgado second inning, advanced on two wild pitches, and scored on a groundout to open the scoring. Cole Freeman also led off the third inning on a walk and scored on Bryce Adams' double. In the fourth, Owen Magee opened the inning with a solo homerun to leftfield to make for a 3-0 contest. Faulkner State scored a run in the fifth following Brock Gilheart's leadoff double, a wild pitch to advance him to third, and a sacrifice fly to score the run. Delgado posted another run in the bottom of the inning when Cody Cody Ducote reached on a leadoff walk, advanced on an infield error, and scored on Kyle Bracey's sacrifice fly. Delgado added two final runs in the sixth inning when Devin Morrill singled to leadoff the inning, scoring on Cole Freeman's triple the following at-bat. Freeman later scored on a groundout by Cody Ducote as Delgado defeated Faulkner State 6-2. Andrew Mitchell picked up his sixth win of the season on the mound (3.0 IP), with Jonathan Ebersole (3.0 IP) and Laine Fontenot appearing in relief.
Delgado (24-10) returns to action on Thursday when the Dolphins host Spring Hill (JV) in a 3:00 doubleheader at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
