Box Score Delgado defeated Spring Hill College (JV) in both games of Thursday's doubleheader at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium. Delgado won 12-2 and 10-0, both games ten-run-rule decisions.
In game one, Delgado posted five runs in the first, two in the third, and five in the fourth. Spring Hill's only runs were plated thanks to a two-run homerun by Topher Douglas in the third inning. Offensively, Delgado was led by Cody Ducote (1 for 3, 1 double, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Bryce Adams (3 for 3, 1 triple, 3 runs, 2 RBI), Kyle Bracey (1 for 3, 1 double, 1 RBI), Owen Magee (2 for 3, 1 run, 1 RBI), and Devin Morrill (1 for 1, 2 RBI). Hunter Speer picked up his second win of the season on the mound, pitching three innings with Jarett Gongora appearing in relief.
In game two, Delgado posted four runs on four consecutive doubles by Josh Magee, Cody Ducote, Bryce Adams, and Owen Magee (Magee scored on Ryan Taylor's groundout) in the first inning to take the early lead over the Badgers. In the fourth, Devin Morrill reached on a fielder's choice and Josh Magee walked before both scored on Bryce Adams' single. Adams scored the following at-bat on Owen Magee's RBI double to give the Dolphins a 7-0 lead. In the fifth, Josh Patin reached on a leadoff walk and advanced when Tyler Hannan reached base on an infield throwing error. Patin scored on an error by the rightfielder, which allowed Devin Morrill to reach base. Ben Condara's pinch-hit single plated Hannan and Morrill to lift Delgado to the 10-0, ten-rule victory. Delgado starter Logan Trent (3.0 IP) earned his first win of the season on the mound with Marc Gremillion appearing in relief.
Delgado (26-10) returns to action this Saturday, hosting LSU-Eunice in a 3:00 doubleheader at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.Â
