Delgado falls to Pensacola 11-2

Box Score PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Delgado fell to Pensacola State College 11-2 Friday evening in the first game of a weekend series at Pirate Park in Pensacola.

Pensacola got on the board early with a two-RBI double by Jordan Matos in the first. Matos went on to score on a Delgado error as the Pirates took a 3-0 lead. Chase Crump and Jordan Matos each homered in the third to extend the lead to six. In the fourth, a two-out single cleared the bases to make it a 9-0 game. Delgado's Robert Podorsky was hit by pitch and scored on a wild pitch to give Delgado their first run of the night in the fifth. Later in the inning, Daniel Lahare scored on a sacrifice fly by Spencer Miller for Delgado's second and final run. Pensacola countered with a two run fifth inning following two RBI-singles to close the scoring enroute to Delgado's 11-2 loss to Pensacola State. Jace Nini picked up his first loss of the season, pitching three and two-thirds innings with Seth Dreux appearing in relief.

Delgado will face Pensacola State and Mineral Area College Saturday in a 1:00 doubleheader.
