Two wins and the Magic begins!

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA - Delgado opened its appearance in the 2016 Disney Baseball Spring Training Invitational Wednesday evening with a doubleheader against Oakton Community College (Illinois) at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

In game one, Spencer Miller's single plated Robbie Podorsky (who reached on a single). Daniel Lahare reached on a single and also scored on an error during the second part of the play. In the third, Delgado plated four runs on three doubles (Robbie Podorsky, Owen Magee, and Spencer Miller) and a two-RBI single by Christian Volion. In the fourth, Daniel Lahare tripled to score Robbie Podorsky (who singled). Lahare scored with Owen Magee's sacrifice fly the following at-bat. A groundout and an infield error added two final Delgado runs in the sixth following singles by Brandt Broussard and Robbie Podorsky to lift Delgado to a 10-1 win. Jace Nini pitched a complete game to earn the win on the mound for Delgado, allowing four hits, an unearned run, and striking out four.

Daniel Lahare reached base as a hit batsman in the first inning of game two before scoring on Spencer Miller's sacrifice fly to give the Dolphins a 1-0 lead. The lead carried until the fifth when Delgado plated five runs on five hits, including singles by Daniel Lahare, Owen Magee, and Brandt Broussard and doubles by JP LaGreco and Dylan Weston. Four singles in the sixth inning, including a two RBI single by Lahare added four final Delgado runs enroute to a 10-0 mercy rule victory in six innings. Delgado started Christian Latino was the winning pitcher, pitching a complete six innings, allowing no runs, three hits, one walk, and striking out eight Oakton batters. 

Delgado (16-6) returns to action on Friday morning with a 10:30 (EST) doubleheader against Muscatine College (Iowa) at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
