Box Score Delgado split Tuesday's doubleheader against Faulkner State in Bay Minette, Alabama.
In game one, Faulkner State scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the 7th to edge Delgado 5-4. Delgado took the early lead when Spencer Miller doubled in the second, advanced on a wild pitch, and scored on Dylan Weston's sacrifice fly. In the third, Christian Clayton led off the inning with a double, scoring on a double by Daniel Lahare. Lahare went on to score on a single by Owen Magee. Lahare also added a run in the fifth on his solo homerun. Faulkner State scored two runs in the third and trailed before tying the game with a two-run double in the last, with the final run scoring on an infield error for the SunChiefs to walk away with the 5-4 win. Spencer Veit pitched the complete game for the Dolphins to suffer the loss.
Delgado batted around with two outs in the first inning of game two, scoring seven runs on six hits, including an RBI single by Spencer Miller, a bases-loaded walk by Christian Volion, a two-run single by Jace Nini and a two run double by Christian Clayton. Dylan Weston's solo homerun in the fifth padded Delgado's lead enroute to a 8-1 victory. Bryce Guidry earned the win on the mound for Delgado, holding Faulkner State to only two hits.
Delgado (27-12) returns to action on Saturday, opening conference play against Baton Rouge Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
