GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO - Seventh-seeded Delgado Community College will meet fourth-seeded Weatherford College (Texas) at 10:00am CST Saturday in Game 1 of the NJCAA Division I World Series at Sam Suplizio Field.
Delgado (45-11) enters the World Series as the South Central District Champions, having swept Crowder College and Seminole State College last weekend in Neosho, Missouri. The Dolphins captured their NJCAA Region XXIII title May 6.
First pitch for Game 1 is set for 9:00am mountain standard time, 10:00am central standard time. Catch the action via the links below:

PRE-GAME NOTES:
- 2023 marks Delgado's sixth program appearance in the NJCAA Division I World Series. Previous trips came in 1985 under Coach "Rags" Scheuermann, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016 under Coach Joe Scheuermann.

- Delgado captured the NJCAA Region XXIII Division I title with a 4-3 win over Baton Rouge Community College to qualify for the South Central District Championship, the NJCAA equivalent of a super regional, hosted by Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri.

- Delgado swept the South Central District Championship with three wins (3-2 win over Seminole State, Oklahoma, 8-5 win over Crowder College, and 2-1 win over Seminole State on May 21. The championship game ended with a walkoff double by Josh Alexander to lift Delgado to the title.

- Delgado carries a 45-11 overall win/loss record in to the World Series. The Dolphins went a perfect 14-0 in regular season conference play against Baton Rouge and Nunez Community College, 3-0 in the conference tournament, and 3-0 in the district tournament. - The 2023 Dolphins appeared in each of the twelve NJCAA national polls of the season, culminating with a #11 ranking in the May 15/Week 12 poll.

- Delgado currently holds a .320 team batting average, totaling 421 runs on 490 hits including 98 doubles, 13 triples, 52 homeruns, and 380 RBI for a .503 slugging percentage. The Dolphins are currently led offensively by Logan O'Neill (.393 BA, 36 R, 53 H, 30 RBI). Pitching wise, the Delgado pitching staff has a 4.22 ERA with 388 innings pitched, 374 strikeouts and 155 walks. Chris Olivier leads the staff with a 10-2 win/loss record. The winner of Game 1 will face the winner of Game 2 between Central Florida (Florida) and Andrew College (Georgia) Monday at 6:00pm MST. The loser of Game 1 will face the loser of Game 2 at 2:00pm MST Sunday.
