Delgado met LSU-Eunice in a conference doubleheader Friday at "Rags" Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
In game one, Riley Rowell singled in Gavin Kennedy, who led off with a walk. Sebastian Rhodes reached on an error that allowed Frank Randol to score to give Delgado the 2-0 lead through one. LSU-Eunice tied the game with a two run single by Tyler Mitchell. The Bengals broke the tie on Jake Smith's two run double in the seventh, adding a sixth run on a single by Milan Obradovich to take a 6-2 win over the Dolphins to even the series. Aidan Grab suffered the loss, pitching into the sixth and striking out seven.
LSU-Eunice struck first, capitalizing on a Delgado error in the first to score Aiden Mouton, who reached on a single to open the game. A two out bunt single added a Bengal run in the second. Delgado's Jack Marcantel homered in the second to give the Dolphins a 3-2 lead. LSU-E answered with an RBI single by Mason Bordelon in the third and added two on a two run homerun by Aiden Mouton in the fourth to expand to a 5-3 lead. The Dolphins threatened with two singles in the seventh before Bengal reliever Beau Revord ended the threat to earn the save. Brandon Kragle suffered the loss with Jordan Oberle pitching four innings in relief, holding the Bengals to two hits.
The teams will meet in a 1pm game Saturday to close the weekend series.
