Delgado took an early lead in the 1st inning when Daniel Brockhoeft's double scored Bubby Riley, who had reached base on a walk. Delgado would pick up three runs in the third with back-to-back homeruns by Angelo Bruno and Logan Jones. Bruno's homer scored Sean McMullen, who had led off the inning with a double.
Pensacola State scored three runs in the 6th inning to gain the lead and another five runs in the 8th to seal the game.Gavin Patton and Brett Casteel's back-to-back homers closed the scoring, 10-5. Cody Deckwa picked up his first loss of the season.
Delgado will continue its weekend series tomorrow with a noon doubleheader. The Dolphins will face Pensacola State in Game 1 and Darton CC in game 2.
