The Dolphins returned to Kirsch-Rooney Stadium Monday night for the team’s first home appearance since March 15, hosting Copiah-Lincoln in a single, 9-inning game.
Delgado allowed two runs in the 1
st to allow the Wolfpack an early 2-0 lead. Co-Lin picked up another run in 2
nd before Delgado scored four in the bottom of the inning following two RBI-triples (Jake Fryman and Sean McMullen), a RBI-double by Luke Voiron, and an RBI-single by Bubby Riley. The Dolphins allowed two runs in the 4
th inning, two in the 6
th, and one in the 7
th while only scoring single runs of their own in the 3
rd and 5
th. Delgado threatened the Co-Lin lead in the bottom of the 9
th, loading the bases with two outs before the final out was recorded to end the game 8-6 in Copiah-Lincoln’s favor. Taylor Migliore got the loss on the mound in relief of starter Philip Doucet.
Delgado (20-13) will return to action on Thursday afternoon with a 2:00 doubleheader, hosting Faulkner State at Kirsch-Rooney.
