Co-Lin slips past DCC, defeating the Dolphins 8-6

The Dolphins returned to Kirsch-Rooney Stadium Monday night for the team’s first home appearance since March 15, hosting Copiah-Lincoln in a single, 9-inning game.

Delgado allowed two runs in the 1st to allow the Wolfpack an early 2-0 lead. Co-Lin picked up another run in 2nd before Delgado scored four in the bottom of the inning following two RBI-triples (Jake Fryman and Sean McMullen), a RBI-double by Luke Voiron, and an RBI-single by Bubby Riley. The Dolphins allowed two runs in the 4th inning, two in the 6th, and one in the 7th while only scoring single runs of their own in the 3rd and 5th. Delgado threatened the Co-Lin lead in the bottom of the 9th, loading the bases with two outs before the final out was recorded to end the game 8-6 in Copiah-Lincoln’s favor. Taylor Migliore got the loss on the mound in relief of starter Philip Doucet.

Delgado (20-13) will return to action on Thursday afternoon with a 2:00 doubleheader, hosting Faulkner State at Kirsch-Rooney.
