Delgado defeated Rend Lake College (IL) 1-0 Sunday afternoon in the final game of the 2013 "Rags" Scheuermann Memorial Invitational at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

The Dolphins scored the game's solo run in the first inning on Cameron Hoffman's RBI-single, which scored Bubby Riley who had reached base on a walk. Jacob Neil pitched six complete innings on the mound for Delgado and earned the win. Neil was relieved by Tyler Cotton, who earned the save after maintaining the Delgado shutout through the seventh inning.

With the win, Delgado improves to 4-2 as they closed their Opening weekend of the 2013 campaign. The Dolphins will travel to Wesson, Mississippi on Thursday for a doubleheader against Copiah-Lincoln. Delgado will host Bishop State on Saturday and Copiah-Lincoln on Sunday at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
