Delgado defeated Pensacola State College 7-2 Friday evening in the first game of this weekend's series at Pirate Park in Pensacola, Florida.

Luke Voiron's RBI single in the first scored Bubby Riley, who reached base on a walk for the Dolphins first run of the series. Jake Fryman's two run homerun in the fourth scored Tony Fortier-Bensen and an infield error scored Cody Farrell to combine for a three-run fourth inning. Delgado expanded the lead in the fifth by scoring another three runs on a hit batter, a sacrifice fly, and an RBI single by Brady Williamson. Pensacola State scored a run in the first on a fielder's choice and threatened the lead by loading the bases in the last inning. Benjamin Siegel's RBI single plated the Pirate's second and last run of the game in the seventh. Christian Trent picked up his second win of the season on the mound, pitching 6 1/3 innings. Kyle Deckwa earned his first save in relief, retiring the last two batters with the bases loaded in the last.

Delgado (10-3) will face host Pensacola State in a 1:00 doubleheader Saturday.
