Dolphins fall to BRCC in Weekend Finale

Box Score

Delgado dropped game three of their Miss-Lou conference weekend series on Sunday afternoon, falling to Baton Rouge Community College 6-1 at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

Baton Rouge scored the first two runs of the game on back-to-back wild pitches in the fifth inning, scoring Adam Falcon and Jose Dupuy, who had reached base on a walk and error. A sacrifice fly plated the Bears' third run in the sixth, while Luke Voiron's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning plated Delgado's first and only run of the game in the bottom of the same inning. Bubby Riley had reached base on a leadoff double to open the inning. Alex Parra's two-RBI double expanded the BRCC lead by two runs in the eighth and Matt's Willis' walk with the bases loaded closed the scoring to allow for the 6-1 Delgado defeat. Delgado starter Chase Hymel (2-1) got the loss on the mound, pitching five innings, allowing four hits, two walks, three runs and four strikeouts.
With the loss, Baton Rouge takes the weekend series two games to one after a split on Saturday. Delgado falls to 28-5 and will travel to Meridian Community College next Thursday and Friday for their second Miss-Lou conference series of the season.
