Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Delgado (36-10, 6-4) split its Saturday Miss-Lou conference doubleheader against Baton Rouge Community College (18-35, 5-6) at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium...

In the first game, Delgado's bats combined for four runs in the 2nd inning, five in the third, and five in the fourth for a 14-1 victory over Baton Rouge Community College. Baton Rouge's lone run came in the fourth inning on an RBI single. The Dolphins' first run of the game came in the second with Cole Freeman's bases-loaded walk, which was followed by Josh Watkins' base-clearing triple. Bryce Adams singled in the second, tripled in the third, and doubled in the fourth for six RBIs. Chase Hymel went the distance to earn his seventh win of the season on the mound in the ten run, mercy rule win.

In game two, Baton Rouge took advantage of two hit batsman and three base on balls before Benjamin McGrew's double with bases loaded made it a 4-0 game. Corey Free's single in the fourth added another Bear run. Delgado led off the fourth with back-to-back walks, scoring its first run on a ground ball double play and its second on Jordan Caillouet's single. Cody Ducote's single in the sixth scored Austin Barrois, who reached on an infield error for Delgado's third and final run en route to the 5-3 loss.

Today's 5-3 loss marks Delgado's first home loss of the 2014 campaign and its first regular season loss in 364 days...the last coming against Meridian on April 27, 2013 in a 14-3 decision.

The two teams will meet on Sunday in a single, 9-inning contest in the weekend's rubber match.
