Delgado Community College will host the 2022 NJCAA South Central District Championship May 20-22 at historic Kirsch-Rooney Stadium in New Orleans. As the Region XXIII Champion, Delgado will host the NJCAA-equivalent of a super regional that will feature Region II champion, Eastern Oklahoma College and Region XVI champion, Crowder College of Missouri. Delgado claimed the Region XXIII championship last Sunday, defeating Nunez Community College 10-9 to earn the right to host the district tournament.

The three team, double elimination tournament runs Friday through Sunday. All three teams will play each other Friday with the winners advancing to a single game Saturday and the if-necessary game to follow Sunday. The district champion will advance to the 2022 NJCAA Division I World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado beginning May 28.

2022 marks Delgado's twelfth consecutive South Central District tournament appearance and third time hosting the event, having previously hosted in 2011 and 2016.
