Delgado Athletic Director/Head Baseball Coach Joe Scheuermann was inducted into the Tulane University Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025 ceremony on September 12-13 in New Orleans.
Scheuermann received the university's
Don and Lora Peters Career Achievement Award that honors
a former Tulane student-athlete who earned his or her undergraduate degree while competing for the Green Wave and has achieved a career of distinction in an athletics-related field. Scheuermann transferred to Tulane in 1982 following two seasons at Delgado and played regularly on a pair of the Green Wave's 40-win teams in 1983 and 1984 under Hall of Famer Joe Brockhoff, including the first-ever team to receive an NCAA at-large berth in 1983. After graduating from Tulane in 1984, he joined Brockhoff's staff as an assistant coach, along with other administrative roles, before becoming Delgado Community College's coach in 1990.
Scheuermann and the Class of 2025 were formally inducted during a ceremony held September 12 at The Arbor Room before being introduced on-field during the September 13 Tulane/Duke game at Yulman Stadium.
