Box Score 2 Delgado swept Mott Community College (MI) in a doubleheader Friday as Delgado continued their 2014 Disney Spring Training Invitational at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
In the first game, Delgado took the lead early by scoring three runs in the top of the first inning on back to back doubles by Austin Barrois and Chris Eades who scored Josh Watkins (who reached on a walk) and Austin Barrois respectively.Eades advanced on a single by Cody Ducote and scored on Jordan Caillouet's sacrifice fly. The runs marked the last runs scored through the game for both teams enroute to Delgado's 3-0 victory over Mott. Starter Brooks Vial picked up the win on the mound, pitching six and a third innings, allowing no runs, one walk, and three strikeouts. Scott Stonestreet earned a save in his relief appearance in the seventh inning.
In game two, Chris Eades' RBI single in the first gave scored Frankie Watts as Delgado took an early 1-0 lead. In the second inning, Jordan Caillouet led off with a double, advanced on a wild pitch, and scored on Cole Freeman's sacrifice. Frankie Watts' triple scored Bryce Adams, who reached base on a walk. Watts later scored on an outfield error for Delgado's fourth run. In the fourth, Watts' two-run homerun scored Cole Freeman, who reached base on a fielder's choice. Chris Eades led off the Dolphins' fifth with a single. The run later scored on Bryce Adams' RBI single. Delgado closed the game in the sixth inning by plating three runs, two coming with Jordan Caillouet's double to score the ninth and tenth runs enroute to Delgado's 10-0, ten run rule walkoff victory. Starter Jacob Neil picked up his third win of the year on the mound, pitching a one hit shutout while facing twenty batters.
Delgado (19-2) will face Gloucester College at 11:30 Saturday and Monroe Community College at 2:00 to round out their Disney Spring Training schedule.
