Most recently, Klein returned to Louisiana where he served as a hitting coach at Jesuit High School in 2025. This past summer, Klein served as the Head Coach of the Baton Rouge Rougarou of the Texas Collegiate Baseball League. Klein led the Rougarou to a franchise-best 40-11 win/loss record and the 2025 Texas Collegiate League Championship. Klein was named TCL Coach of the Year.
On announcing the hire, Coach Joe Scheuermann said "It's great to have Stephen returning to our program as an Assistant Coach. He was a standout member of several Delgado teams and has continued to grow his knowledge of the game in the years since. We look forward to him bringing his love of the program back to campus and helping share our tradition with another group of players."
Stephen Klein adds "I'm excited to return to the tradition that is Delgado Baseball. There's a standard here and I'm looking forward to sharing it with our players and building on the program's successes and momentum."
Klein will begin his daily duties this week. He rounds out the baseball coaching staff that includes Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach Joe Scheuermann, entering his 36th season, and Assistant Coach Michael Tullier who is entering his 15th season.
