Box Score 2 Delgado swept Eureka College (Illinois) in Sunday's doubleheader at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
In game one, Dylan Weston's double scored JP LaGreco (who was hit by pitch to reach base) in the second inning for the Dolphins' first run. Brandt Broussard singled to score Weston for a second run. Delgado sent nine batters to the plate in the third, posting five runs on four hits, including a bases-clearing triple by Christian Volion to plate three runs. Spencer Miller's RBI double in the fourth scored Daniel Lahare, who reached on a single to open the inning. In the fifth, Christian Volion reached on a single and scored on a wild pitch. Brandt Broussard reached on a double and scored on a fielder's choice by Daniel Lahare. Eureka's scored a solo run in the second on Trevor Froeshing's homerun and another run in the seventh inning when Trevor Oakes reached on a leadoff walk and scored on Logan Wilde's single. Jace Nini picked up the 11-2 win on the mound with Laine Fontenot and Adam Sinibaldi appearing in relief.
Robbie Podorsky led off game two by reaching base as a hit batsman and scored on Owen Magee's single to open the Delgado scoring. Delgado added two runs in the third on three consecutive singles by Robbie Podorsky, Daniel Lahare, and Owen Magee. Lahare scored on Spencer Miller's sacrifice fly. JP LaGreco reached base on a leadoff double in the fourth, scoring on an infield error that allowed Christian Volion to reach base. Owen Magee's two run homerun in the fifth inning plated Delgado's final two runs of the game enroute to the Dolphins' 6-0 victory over Eureka. Evan Hileman earned the win as Delgado's starting pitcher with CJ Avrard, Spencer Veit, and Connor Whalen appearing in relief.
Delgado travels to Orlando, Florida on Wednesday for a six game series in the Disney Sports Spring Training Invitational at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
