Delgado rallied back with a 7-4 win in Game two to split Saturday's doubleheader against Pensacola State College following a 5-0 shutout loss in game one.
In game one, Pensacola State scored a run in the second inning following a two out double and RBI single. The 1-0 lead carried to the sixth when the Pirates sent nine batters to the plate to combine for four runs on four hits before their 5-0 shutout loss to Delgado. Aidan Grab suffered the loss on the mound, pitching five innings with Brayden Clement and Jude Tingstrom closing the game in relief.
Dominick Letort's double in the first inning of game two plated Riley Rowell, who reached on a single to give Delgado the early 1-0 lead. Pensacola State tied the game with a leadoff homerun in the bottom of the first and tacked on a second run on an RBI double to lead 2-1 through one inning of play. Bryce Roberts' solo homerun opened the Dolphins' second inning with Lenny Cline reaching on an error and later scoring on an overthrow following Gavin Kennedy's double. Kennedy drove in Gavin Berry with a single in the fourth and Everett Denny's single scored two additional runs to expand the lead to 6-4. A seventh Delgado run crossed on a Denny single in the sixth scoring Lenny Cline. The PIrates added single runs in the fifth and seventh before Delgado closed the 7-4 win to split the twinbill. Jordan Oberle picked up his first win the season in relief of starter Jacob Heiden. Riley Rowell picked up his third save of the season, closing the final 2.1 innings.
Delgado and Pensacola State will meet at 1:00 Sunday at Pirate Park to close the series.
