Dolphins take 7-6, 12th Inning walkoff win over Southeastern CC

Everett Denny's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the twelfth inning plated Brayden Clement to lift Delgado to a 7-6 walkoff win over Southeastern Community College (Iowa) Saturday at "Rags" Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

Delgado took an early 2-0 lead on Sebastian Rhoades' two run single in the first before Southeastern answered with three in the second inning to  take a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the inning, Joe Monaghan doubled and Cooper Burch singled to reach base before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Gavin Kennedy and a double by Frank Randol to retake the lead. Southeastern's Jackson Petsche doubled in the fifth to tie the game 4-4. Sebastian Rhoades and Jack Marcantel walked to open the Delgado sixth before eventually scoring on a wild pitch and a pinch hit sacrifice fly by Aidan Gernard to expand the lead by two runs. A fifth Blackhawk run crossed the plate on a single in the seventh and a tying sixth run scored on a single in the eighth. In the bottom of the twelfth, Brayden Clement reached on a pinch hit double to open the inning, advancing to third on a sacrifice bunt by Riley Rowell before scoring on Denny's sacrifice fly to end the game in walkoff fashion.

Riley Rowell picked up the win on the mound, holding Southeastern scoreless in 4.2 innings, allowing two hits and allowing only five base runners. Starting pitcher Aiden Grab pitched into the fifth with Trey Turnage appearing the middle 3.1 innings in relief.

Delgado and Southeastern will meet at 1pm Sunday to close the weekend series at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
