Dolphins split Friday doubleader at Southwest Mississippi

Delgado split Friday's doubleheader against Southwest Mississippi in Summit, Mississippi, defeating the Bears in a 6-4 comeback win in game one before the Bears took a 5-4 walkoff win in game two.

Delgado's first run came in the first inning of game one when Everett Denny tripled and scored on a passed ball to give the Dolphins a 1–0 lead. In the third, Jack Marcantel doubled with two outs before being driven in on a single by Sebastian Rhoades. Rhoades scored the following at bat on a single by Joe Monaghan. Southwest Mississippi capitalized on two singles, an error, and a wild pitch to take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. In the sixth, Joe Monaghan, Lenny Cline, and Gavin Kennedy all walked to load the bases before a hit batter and two run single by Dominick Letort added three Dolphin runs to give Delgado the 6–4 lead and the eventual win. Starter branding Kragle picked up the win with Chase Williamson closing the game in the relief.

Southwest Mississippi open game two with two runs in the first inning to take a 2–0 leave. Delgado answered with two runs in a second, coming off of RBI singles by Joe Monaghan and Cooper Burch. A third Bear run scored on the ground out in the fourth inning to give Southwest a 3–2 leave. Delgado tied the score on a ground out by Riley Rowell in the fifth, scoring Cooper Burch. Burch reached on an error to lead off the Delgado seventh, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Gavin Kennedy and scored on a fielders choice by Dominick Letort. In the bottom of the seventh, Southwest led off with a single, advanced on a sacrifice bunt, and scored on a field's choice by JD Hidalgo to tie the game 4–4. Hidalgo stole second and third before a single by Justin Domanano scored the run to lift Southwest to the 5-4 walkoff win. 

Delgado will host Mississippi Gulf Coast in a 1pm doubleheader Sunday at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
